Technique Solaire signs a power purchase agreement with Air France

Air France choisit Technique Solaire pour un approvisionnement en électricité verte

The independent renewable energy producer, Technique Solaire, announces the signing of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Air France group. This 20-year PPA, covering over 13 GWh/year, will enable one of the world’s leading airlines to procure renewable solar energy at a stable and competitive long-term price.

Under this PPA, the electricity will be produced from two ground-mounted solar parks. The first park, located in Saint Priest Taurion (87), has an installed capacity of 5 MWc and its PPA will come into effect in 2025. The second park, with a capacity of 6 MWc, will be operational by 2026 and is located in Pouillé (86). Together, these installations will produce 13 GWh/year, representing approximately 10% of the total annual consumption of Air France’s buildings.

The contract is Technique Solaire’s first PPA signed in France following a PPA concluded in India in 2021 with the Goa Institute of Management (GIM). The Technique Solaire group aims to accelerate its development using this economic model built to help companies decarbonize their energy supply. Our goal is for these types of contracts to represent up to 50% of Technique Solaire’s electricity production by 2030.

PPAs are a catalyst for the energy transition. They provide key advantages for all parties involved, encouraging the construction of new solar plants across France and Europe. Buyers benefit from price visibility and access to renewable energies, which enables them to balance the energy transition with economic stability. Producers can secure investments in plant projects and benefit from better sales planning.

Thomas de Moussac, co-founder and Manager Director in charge of development, and Clément Blaizot, Director of Innovation at Technique Solaire announce:We are very pleased to have concluded this PPA with the Air France group. We intend to reproduce this type of contract as we are convinced of the relevance and potential of this economic model to accelerate the energy transition. They will be powerful levers to achieve Technique Solaire’s goal of 4 GWc by 2030.
